Engineers Who Think too much . . .

come up with stuff like this:

We drove down it twice yesterday. Because my husband is an engineer, and we didn't have our cameras the first time.

Why Don't We Steal Away?

Mrangelmeg and I are making a break for it.

I have packed the freezer with pizzas, expecting the kids to fend for themselves tonight, and we are taking off this afternoon for a little overnight adventure. We are heading south-east to the Buckeye State to meet up with some friends in Cincinatti for a Jazz Concert this evening.

We are going to a place called the Blue Wisp to hear one of my favorite Saxaphonists: Ron Jones. We have heard him live before at least once down in Louisville back when the Jazz Factory was still open (moment of revered silence please).

Mrangelmeg isn't much of a fan of Jazz, but he loves the company (me, and the couple we are meeting up with) so he is willingly going along with us. Ron Jones plays enough standards mixed in with his more jazzy stuff so that mrangelmeg doesn't feel like he hasn't got a clue what he is listening to all the time.

I am really excited. With mrangelmeg's travel schedule it seems like we are ships passing in the night. We are here but so much of the time is spent sleeping or taking care of necessary stuff that we really don't have much time to just focus on each other. Getting away like this, even just overnight, will give us some time to just be about us for a whole day. Sometimes a marriage needs that kind of maintenance.

Home: Worn Out and Worried

Our Third Daughter came home from her trip to New Orleans with her school class. She had a wonderful time, but she had an unexpected thing happen on Friday night or early Saturday Morning; she lost her wallet. We aren't so concerned about the rather large sum of money that she had left over from her trip, but she had all of her Identification, including her YMCA card and her Library card and our Insurance card in that thing.

We have searched through every inch of her suitcase and backpack and didn't find anything. Tomorrow we are going to see if they will let us check the tent they were sleeping in again, just to see if it might not have gotten folded up in the tent accidentally.

Please say a quick prayer to St. Anthony that it turns up somehow.

If this is the worst thing that comes out of the whole trip we are lucky. Everything she lost can be replaced, and the money was just that, only money. She is home, safe and sound, and she had a great learning experience on her trip.

A View of Spain

My Brother recently chucked his job and just about everything he owns and moved to Spain. He is unmarried and writes for a living, so there was really nothing keeping him here in the States.

If you are interested in learning about life in Valencia (he writes very well -- though I do not take responsibility for any foul language or his political leanings).

His Blog is called Leftbanker

Why not click on over and give it a view, you may just get the urge to visit Spain yourself.
