You Can't Make This Stuff Up!

Virgin Mary and her husband a carpenter, gave birth to a son on Christmas and named him Jesus.

But this Virgin Mary gave birth this year in Peru.

The mother, Virgen Maria Huarcaya, delivered the 7.7 pound (3.5 kg) boy, Jesus Emanuel, in the early hours of Christmas at the central maternity hospital in Lima, the capital.

You can read the whole story here.

Friday Fun: 2nd Grade AP Reading Mid Term

Here is a link that made me laugh out loud.

I am not sure if I laughed because it was funny or because I think I had this exact teacher in elementary school.

2nd Grade AP Reading Mid Term

my favorite answer has to be:

#2 What does Max's wolf mask in Where the Wild Things Are represent?

a) a wolf

Teacher's comment: Wolves symbolize capitalism and the masks are respresentative of slavery; the wolf mask is all about Max's white guilt.

h/t to my son the genius who stumbled across this on the internet and couldn't wait to share it with me.

Thursday Fun: Lazy Thursday Bloggers Post

This was such a hoot I had to share it: (Think mad libs only with pull downs so it takes even less work.)

Check out the Lazy Bloggers Post Generator,

click on the tabs and add the content you want and you have a post.

Here is my randomly chosen submission (I haven't yet read the copy so you get to see it the same time I do)

Oh for crying out loud! I just terrible dreadful fear I have not updated this since people stopped clapping and Tinkerbell died... You would not believe how terribly tardy the Victorian internet can be. My bad..

I am distracted with my obsession of saving money, watching Dexter, just generally being a nuisance to the secret service, my day is a nightmare I would like to wake up from now to well after sun-down. I am putting money aside so I can run away. I wish you could be here to share it.

I won't promise anything to you but won't blog until the next time booze prices go up and I have to get sober for a while. Fully! This is for my ever faithful, devoted public..

Me again, ironically that wasn't too far off, how scary is that?

thanks to Ironic Catholic for the link.

This is Awesome

I am going through a bit of a spiritual crisis right now and what do I find via my pals at Korrektiv and Ironic Catholic but this awesome bit of Christian Poetry that sums up exactly where I am right at this very moment:

I may have to start saying this as my evening prayer for a few days until my sanity returns or my final is finished (hopefully both will happen at the same time).

Isn't Ironic at all

I noticed something very interesting today when I was doing my weekly prayer vigil outside our local abortion mill. The wonderfully "helpful" escorts that are stationed there to "protect" the women who come to avail themselves of the services at the clinic are very solicitous when the women arrive at the clinic. They walk directly up to the car and escort the women all the way from their cars to the door of the clinic, holding the door open for them.

When these same women have completed their business at the clinic, presumably having just ended the life of their unborn baby one would think that these "escorts" would be just as helpful and meet them at the door of the clinic and walk them back to their car, making sure that they arrive safely. This however is not the case. Once the abortionist has the woman's money and has completed the business transaction the poor woman is on her own. As far as the escort is concerned she may as well not even exist. The escorts barely even speak to the women who are leaving the clinic.

How sad is that?

At least our prayers go with these women the entire journey.
